I began craving fame and fortune in the literary world when I was in high school. After writing my way through careers as a machinist, journalist, corporate writer, public relations specialist, and an English teacher and professor, I’ve decided to keep writing despite the lack of wealth and notoriety.

I’ve published over 40 books, mostly in the adult horror genre, but I’ve also written for the young adult, children’s, Western, thriller, and literary fiction markets. I write in other genres using pseudonyms. My non-fiction writing includes how-to articles for writers, literary criticism, and hundreds of news, sports, and feature articles, as well as editorials and columns for print newspapers and online sites, plus a short memoir.

In 2004 I earned a master’s degree in liberal studies, creative writing emphasis, from the University of Oklahoma. Before that, I earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1999, and graduated from Enid High School in 1984. I’m a lifelong Oklahoman, father of four, with four grandsons. I currently live in central Oklahoma with my dogs, Bear and Sweet Pea, and Cleo the cat. I like to kayak and camp when I don’t have deadlines to meet.

I’ll still take that fame and fortune if you want to buy my books …
